6p43p - any experience with these ?
ebay has these NOS Russian tubes at less than eight dollars for four. They purport to be similar to el84 / 6p14p but need a lower plate voltage (180v) and have a lower mu.
My amps are run at low voltages with a Hall vvr. Would anyone care to comment whether they think they would run OK and sound decent in a lite IIb? What would the lower mu mean in a bypassed cathode-biased stage?

I have some 6p14p tubes, I have tried them in a 18 watt amplifier, and it worked without problems.
But as I recall I did not like their sound, they were very metallic in sound.
I attach a link to the European baced website "RADIO MUSEUM" which indicates that 6p14p = EL84 = 6BQ5.

Here is a link to a datasheet in Russian:
http://www.155la3.ru/datafiles/6p43p_e_pasp.djvu
The most important values that must not be exceeded are:
Ua=300V
Ug2=250V
Pa=12W
Pg2=2W
On the second page it says that this tube can be used in place of 6P18P (EL82). And it also says that you can run the tube with only one parameter at it's maximum value. But the tube contains 1.514mg gold!
The gain is lower (7.5mA/V) compared to those of EL84.
